
General Characteristics
As opposed to any traditional solenoid valve the hose pinching version shuts off the flow of any medium without turbolences as well as death spaces where the medium can stagnate. This system allows a bi-directional flow. The opening and closing actions are made by a coil operated pinching device which squeezes a soft hose. The hose material is the only one in contact with the medium: this feature enables the use of pinch solenoid valves in sterile, physiologic, alimentary applications.
The maximum operating pressures are in the region of 1 bar but they are also related to hose material, hose thickness and coils power.
Materials
The valve housing is in anodyzed aluminium, the pinching device is in POM: acetal copolymer, graphite reinforced (S104-S108-S204-S305-S308) or in PA: glass reinforced polyamide (S105-S106-S205-S206-S306-S307). And the remaining valve components are in stainless steel.
Coils
Internally moulded steel clamp. Class F insulation (155°C); the winding is wound by class H (180°C)m wires. Before moulding into glass fibre reinforced PBT (polybutylene-terephtalate) the winding is vacuum impregnated by polyester resin. Ambient temperature from -10°C to +60°C.
Standard electrical connections (2 poles plus earth) suitable for DIN 43650 connections or fast crimp connectors. 6.3x0.8 as per DIN 46350: the micro-coils, series Z0..., are suitable for fast crimp connectors 2.8x0.5 as per DIN 46340 or for micro plug connectors. Protection class IP65 EN 60529 (DIN 40050) with coil duly fitted with the plug connector. With the exception of certain versions, all the coils have obtained SEV-ASE (Swiss) approval and are suitable for continuous duty (ED 100%).
Voltages
The coils are suitable for DC operation only. The standard voltages are 12 or 24V DC. Other voltages are available on request. Tolerance on the rated voltages: +10° -5%. For latching coils only: ±10%.
Useful Life
Sirai can guarantee a quite long life of hoses because the pinching device designed for soft operation through a well balanced force. The pinch valves are reliable for more than 20 millions cycles depending on the model.
