On the topics we have listed in this special projects section, we indicated how we solved a particular problem area, extending from one example, water pressurization units are not just confined to boosting mains supply......
It is quite practical to take a water source such as a well no matter how deep and provide domestic or commercial supplies using the same principles and a similar technique. There are quite a number of options available and the company will be pleased to discuss any enquiry.
We have also been involved in pressurized water supplies, both fresh water and seawater on board vessels. The situation on board vessel is such that, unlike a house or a building there is normally no place where a tank can be fitted to provide a good "head" of water therefore it is essential that a pressurized system is used.
Our work in the respect of marine pressure boosting is mainly involved with the design / manufacture supply of replacements of outdated and worn out units. The principle that was applied to many installations of a few years ago was to use a pump with a very limited flow and pressurize a tank and use a cushion of air to act as an "accumulator". In effect, this worked reasonably well providing that the ships engineer took the trouble to maintain the air cushion. In the event that this action was not taken the pressurized water absorbed the air cushion and the supply was reduced to the amount that the pump could supply. It also resulted in quite often severe pump and system damage.
Today's pressure systems do not rely on water being in contact with air as the modern accumulator tanks are fitted with a membrane or bladder to cause complete separation. Modern pumps are also much more efficient with much higher flows and pressure ratings to the extent that while the pump size has not increased dramatically the accumulator tank is reduced in some cases to less than 25% of the original.
Other aspects of this marine work involve special voltages to suit the ships supply and we can offer 440/3/60, 380/3/50, 220v DC as well as standard voltages.
